WHO WILL BE THE HIP HEATING APPRENTICE OF THE YEAR 2016?
April 19th 2016
Our social media followers will be well aware that we’re proudly sponsoring HIP Magazine’s search for the most talented future heating engineer. The final of the contest takes place on the 27th and 28th of April when the seven regional finalists compete to be named HIP Heating Apprentice of the Year 2016.
We’re supporting the competition because training is key for the industry, especially in light of the current skills shortage. Apprenticeships have a vital role in equipping the next generation with the skills that they need.
Having established our own apprenticeship scheme in 2015 we also work with schools and colleges wherever possible to offer opportunities for their students. We provide experience through the links our branches have with local colleges and we strive to encourage interest in the industry among school leavers through our Business in the Community partnership.
“For young people apprenticeships provide a great start to their careers, especially in the heating and plumbing sector, which offers a diverse range of opportunities for career development,” said Ian Kenny, Marketing Director. “We are delighted to be a part of recognising the skills and achievements of the apprentices.”
