ASK THE JUDGES: WHAT MAKES A TOP INSTALLER?

The deadline to vote for the UK’s Best Heating Installer 2017 is nearly here, which has got us thinking… What is it that makes a top Installer? And what qualities do the ten finalists share?
We had a chat with some of this year’s judges to find out more!
Meeting the criteria
The regional finalists were whittled down from hundreds of entries by representatives from Continental Underfloor, Danfoss, LG, Pegler Yorkshire, Sentinel, Vaillant UK, Installer Magazine and, of course, yours truly.
Each entry was considered against four criteria: expert service, happy customers, professionalism and technicality.
Every regional winner has shown the desire to go to great lengths to provide a top quality service for their customers, using innovative solutions that have improved the quality of life for families and businesses.
What the judges said
Our marketing manager Samantha Canfield was one of this year’s judges and she’s been bowled over by the quality of the entries.
“Being a member of the Heating Installer Awards judging panel was an excellent opportunity to see just how seriously the UK’s plumbers and heating installers take their jobs,” she says. “We’re looking forward to seeing who will take the title – I think it will be a very close final!”
Sentinel’s judge Neil Davies said: “These particular installers are the type homeowners turn to in an emergency, to improve the comfort in their home and change their lifestyle by having energy efficient heating solutions – those they know are 100% reliable. They’re an inspiration to young people looking to forge a career in the industry.”

The aim of the awards is to raise the standards of our industry even higher, and honour those who work hard and give great customer service every day.
